Clinical Trials For Cancer Could Use More Older People

(Washington Post) July 23, 2017 - More than 60 percent of cancer patients are older adults — and that will rise to 70 percent by 2040. Yet seniors are underrepresented in clinical trials, making it difficult to assess how treatments are likely to help or harm them.

While it is noted that physicians need to do a better job for recruitment, I would surmise that the senior population will usually have not co-morbid conditions that exclude them from the trials, as wells the senior population not being able to handle the rigid controlled monitoring process.quotes
